You don’t have to have it all figured out. You just have to begin.

I started this blog not because I had all the answers…

but because I didn’t.

Because I was burnt out, uprooted, unsupported and tangled in all the usual traps: perfectionism, self-doubt, the belief that I had to earn my creativity before I could claim it.

But somewhere underneath the exhaustion and doubt, something in me was still reaching. Quietly. Stubbornly. Like a seed cracking open beneath the soil.

That’s the heart of Spite & Bloom:
To grow anyway.
In spite of burnout.
In spite of grief.
In spite of everything that says, “You’re not ready yet.”

This is a blog for...

  • Multipassionate creatives who feel stuck between burnout and big dreams

  • Late-diagnosed neurodivergent folks reclaiming their rhythms and identity

  • People navigating mystery and questionining creatively, spiritually, and sometimes physically

  • Anyone searching for meaning, beauty, and connection outside of hustle culture

  • Healers in need of healing, caregivers in need of care.

This is a space for the whole spiral, from pain to presence to power.

A space for what’s just been planted, what’s coming to life, what’s in full bloom, and what’s breaking down to begin again.

It holds the full cycle. Conception. Growth. Decay. Transformation.
A place to meet yourself wherever you are in the process.

For the whole arc from holding tight to letting go.
A place to meet yourself in the mess, the beauty, and everything in between.

Here, I share stories from my life and garden, often messy, sometimes funny, always honest.

It’s a space for what’s blooming and what’s in transition. A place for questions, for reclamation, and for reconnecting with creativity on your own terms.

Reflections on creativity, slowness, chronic illness, chosen family, and healing. Photos of in-between phases. Art when I can make it. Encouragement when I can’t.

Healing isn’t a project with a deadline. It’s a practice, a relationship.

~ and still grow into something sacred.

Hi, I’m Insa, The Garden Witch, an artist, metal fabricator, gardener, and forest-dweller in Western North Carolina. I write about healing through land connection, growing food in challenging spaces, and building a life rooted in creativity, care, and slow, intentional living. I’m currently working on a series of garden zines designed for neurodivergent growers and anyone learning to move at the pace of nature.
